Half a day! Half a day was all I got to see the Kochi Biennale in my month long road trip in South India! It was not enough at all… but what I did see really impressed me a lot! It was actually thought provoking and so engaging, I am amazed!

These two videos are the first site I saw..

Apart from these I roamed around across another of their main venues that too has very interesting art installations. I think leaving the mind curious, excited, a fount for creativity is the best thing art can do!

Below you see a room which was a place to meditate but very different from any conventional space you may find. The pillars of light create an ethereal feel! They seem to be made very simply just with few cloth pieces twirled around a beam of light and suspended just so… there is no other light in the room. The ground was covered in a mozaic of carpets…

Quiet Place Then there was a neon sign and a room full of water. There was again a makeshift rickety ramp leading to the center of the room. The neon sign text could not be read directly. One had to walk the ramp to the center of the room to see the reflection of the neon sign in the water and only then can we read it! 🙂 Water Text Art
